SPECIFICATIONS: PARATROOPER® TACTICAL BIKE
(£550.00 incl VAT)

Please read the following and make sure you fully understand the information given. If unsure about any aspect, phone and ask.

Bike comes largely pre-assembled in the box; you need to fit:-

Front wheel and Seat, both with quick release mechanism.

The brakes are set to USA/European standard. To set to UK standard you need to swap over the brake cables, something your local bike shop can do for you. If you do not make the change, the brake levers will operate "wrong" set of brakes.

Pedals - are handed, it is extremely important that you correctly fit the pedals.
Folding pedals are not suited for off road use and are not supplied with the bike. Should you decide to use folding or demountable type (see the MKS range) your local bike shop will be able to advise you of the suitability of the each of the type of pedal.

The brake levers are fitted in an optimum position for fitting the bike in the box. It may be necessary to adjust the brake lever positions on the handle for which you need a 5mm Allen key. If you don't adjust the positions, the levers can foul the cross bar of the frame and scratch the paint work.

Fine-tuning of the gears may be necessary. Something to be done by a bike shop unless you are well experienced in setting up a twenty four gear system.

If you are 6ft or taller and prefer a more upright riding position, consider changing the handle to a riser type handle bar and a stem with a greater rake on it. We do not however think it is a good idea to use a bike off road when fitted with a stem riser. Again have any changes made by your local bike shop.

If the bike is to be used on the road most of the time with occasional use off road, then consider changing the tyres to puncture resistant hybrid types.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST HAVE THE BIKE CHECKED OVER BY A BIKE SHOP BEFORE TAKING TO THE ROAD, ask for a "out of the box" check.

If collecting the bike, we assemble it for you, but we still ask you to have the bike checked over by a competent mechanic at you local bike shop.

Considering using the Paratrooper as a commuter bike?

Paratrooper bike in use by the US army.

Just a quick note of thanks for the demo of the Montague Paratrooper today, its a great piece of kit and better suited to my uses than any other folding bike. I expect some of my friends & colleagues will be in touch when they see me racing around on mine.

To that end; I would like to place an order for 2 x 18in Paratrooper bikes and 2 x carry bags.

Any information regarding upgrading the pedals would be appreciated.

Thanks so much for fitting the bike up together on Saturday at such short notice. I took the bike out for a run yesterday evening and it performed very well I thought. And you are right - I got stared at. Mr JB of Farnham, Surrey 23 Mar 2007
