Andalusians
The ur-Andalusian has retained its dance-like charm and willing nature to this day. From the middle of the 16th century, the Andalusian became widespread throughout Europe through the Royal Riding School of Naples.
Today’s name for this Iberian breed is “Pura Raza Española” (PRE – the English translation is “Pure Spanish breed”). These horses are notable for their high level of agility, endurance, trainability, dance-like walk and high intelligence. Their very high knee action and light, cat-like elegance never fail to delight.
The Andalusian has proved itself both in dressage and as guard horse for free-roaming fighting bulls – and there is no better horse for the Spanish bull-fighting arena.
