The “Voice of APASSIONATA”
Arndis Halla is the “Voice of APASSIONATA”. The Iceland-born singer began her professional career at the Komische Oper Berlin in 1998. She had guest appearances at various German theatres before making a name for herself internationally as the "Queen of the Night” in Mozart’s “Magic Flute”.
Whether in Japan or South Korea, Europe or the Prague State Opera, she has celebrated countless great successes. At the end of 2006 Edel Records released an APASSIONATA book and CD-set, and March 2007 saw the release of her first solo album “Odur” (a crossover between classic and pop/rock). That same year, the unique voice of Arndis Halla opened the Venice Film Festival, and she sang in “Ariadne on Naxos” at the Icelandic Opera.
In addition to the new APASSIONATA, she is also appearing as a guest in the main role in the musical “Evita" and releasing her second album, “Edda” (Edel Records). She and the photographer Emil Thor have just released the book "Zauber der Freiheit" (Charm of Freedom) in her homeland of Iceland. The wonderful pictures and songs of the media book have been available in Germany since the spring of 2011.
