Companions of Light
The desert rider
The mysterious desert rider on his temperamental black Menorquin horse helps Alana on her adventurous journey, protecting her on path to saving the word from eternal darkness. His horse is a beautiful stallion, elegant and graceful. Most of all, you will be amazed by the horse performing a spectacular walking pesade on its hindquarters.

The dervish dancer
Alana’s journey takes her around the world. In the vast expanse of the African plains, she encounters a dervish dancer. Alana is thrilled by watching the woman become one with her horses, experiencing the herd’s endless freedom. They perform a touching formation that shows just how deep and trusting their bond is, and teach Alana the true extent of liberty.

The Indian prince
In an Indian palace, Alana encounters a fascinating man who seems to be talking to and understanding his horses - an image of harmony and trust. The Indian prince would much rather live in eternal happiness with his horses than to continue the policy of his royal father. He teaches Alana what compassion means.

The flamenco dancer
Arriving in Spain, Alana is under the spell of spirited flamenco. With elegance and Southern European charm, a dancer and a rider present the fiery dance steps - accompanied live by a guitarist. The dynamic steps of man and horse merge into a unity and fascinate Alana with her dancing lightness.

On her journey through China, Alana meets a Chinese wizard who combines riding and juggling in his own way. Later she meets two pandas, whom she teaches to juggle. It turns out that it's all a matter of patience - the virtue of the Far Eastern magician.

Arab
Swift as an arrow, enduring and loyal: These are the traits attributed to Arab horses. This very old breed is known as the most noble horse breed in the world. Arab horses have been the preferred riding animals of the desert dwellers for many centuries – the pride and joy of Sheiks and Bedouins. They admired these horses so much that they fed them by hand and let them sleep in their tents. This is why Arab hors- es developed many remarkably positive qualities: they are good-natured, forbearing, devoted and have an exquisite character.

Azteca
This resilient horse breed was then crossed with the Northern American Quarter Horse and the Andalusian horse – the Azteca breed was born. Mexico’s “national horse” with its excellent catile driving skills is not only sure-footed and agile, but also very reliable. Combined with their well-balanced temper, all of these traits make the Azteca horses perfect partners for trick riding – which they are once more demonstrating in the shows of Apassionata World GmbH.

Friesian
Friesian horses have a long-standing history. They were first mentioned in the times of Ancient Rome and have since evolved into a popular European breed. The fascination with the Friesian horse is in part owed to its beautiful, mystical appearance straight from a fairy tale with its long, lush mane and its similarly striking feathering. Thanks to its Spanish heritage, this breed performs bold and expressive gaits, which makes it predestined for dressage.

KWPN
The KWPN (Koninklijk Warmbloed Paard Nederland) is a warmblood originating from the Netherlands. These beautiful and athletic horses are a cross of the Dutch Groningen and Gelderland horses, with a little thoroughbred blood mixed in. Dutch warmbloods are incredibly talented at dressage and other riding disciplines. This year, in “APASSIONATA - Companions of light” a beautiful black KWPN will present his exceptional talent for dressage – performing in perfect liberty and without a rider!

Tinker
Tinker horses, also known as Irish Cobs, originate from Ireland and Great Britain. In Germany the horses – that o en come with a pie- bald coat – were not recognised as an independent breed un l 2005. Since they have a sturdy build and an enduring character similar to coldbloods, in the past, they were frequently used as carthorses for longer journeys. The close bond and the great trust between the Italian rider Bartolo Messina and his two Tinker horses clearly shows in their liberty dressage act in “Companions of Light”.

Shetland pony
Among all of the breeds, Shetland ponies are known as the “ants among horses”. They originate from the Shetlands, a group of islands belonging to Scotland. Due to the rough weathers on the islands, they have evolved into very resilient and sturdy ponies. These little all-rounders are considered to be one of the most powerful horse breeds, even capable of pulling twice their own weight. The audience won’t believe their eyes seeing these cute dwarfs demonstrate their abilities in the arena.
